A suspect was arrested in the shooting incident in Bat Yam in which Adi Peretz was injured by a stray bullet Israel today

Developments in the shooting investigation in Bat Yam:

Police today (Monday) arrested a suspect in the shooting incident last August, in which Adi Peretz was hit by a stray bullet while passing through the area. 

The central unit in the Tel Aviv district opened an investigation about two months ago upon receiving a report at Hotline 100 regarding a shooting incident in Bat Yam in the evening, during which the passerby and a local resident were injured while driving in a vehicle near a square in the city.

Meanwhile, Tel Aviv police investigators conducted an undercover investigation, in which various technological means were used, along with analyzing forensic findings at the scene and taking complex investigative actions, which led to the disclosure of the identities of five suspects - Holon and Bat Yam residents in their 30s.

As mentioned, as the investigation moved this morning to the open stage, IDF detectives arrested five residents of the area on suspicion of involvement in the attempted murder of a local resident, who was injured in a shooting due to a local conflict.

In accordance with the needs of the investigation and its findings, the police intend to bring the suspects to a hearing in the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court tomorrow, with a request to extend their detention.

Peretz has been a victim of a conflict between criminal gangs that has been gaining momentum in recent months in the city of Bat Yam.

In similar cases, as well as in the case of Adi Peretz, the Tel Aviv police under the command of Superintendent Ami Eshed, failed to obtain quality intelligence on intent to assassinate.

Investigators collected all the security camera footage near the scene of the shooting and in all the nearby streets, in order to find the motorcyclist who passed by the scene and who apparently fired his shot at him.

The shooter himself, according to the police investigation, stood about 15 meters from Peretz's vehicle, fired five shots at another criminal and fled the scene.

One of the bullets hit her in the head.

Signs of gunfire were also found on the vehicle on the back door, in the location where her four-year-old daughter was sitting, who was unlucky.
