For a long time, nothing has been heard about the planned new construction of the staff dormitory at the Tölzer Asklepios Clinic. But the plans are in progress.

For a long time, nothing has been heard about the planned new construction of the staff dormitory at the Tölzer Asklepios Clinic.

But the plans are in progress.

Bad Tölz - In the most recent Tölz city council meeting, the managing director of the Tölz city clinic also described some corona effects.

One thing was not discussed: the renovation and construction of the staff dormitory.

The measures, which have been under discussion for many years, were originally supposed to start in spring 2020, which would have brought almost 190 rental apartments, around 135 of which are completely new, to the Tölz housing market.

Corona also delayed the planning and approval processes for the construction

As a question from clinic spokesman Christopher Horn revealed, the challenges of the pandemic delayed the planning and approval process.

In addition, “complex contractual details” should have been clarified.

But, according to Horn's core statement, they still have a “positive preliminary building permit”.

Without going into detail, Horn points out that the contracts “are currently with the notary and the Asklepios group headquarters for final examination”.

It is in the final coordination with the authorities and parties involved and wants to submit the building application to the city and district office "as soon as possible".

As soon as possible, it is said when asked, "this year" should be.

Plans call for two five-story buildings

The plans envisage two five-story buildings on the company's own property.

The old staff dormitory with currently 53 apartments is to be completely refurbished and in future will have 120 staff dormitory rooms with around 27.5 square meters (1 room).

Right next to it there is a second, also five-storey building with a flat roof, slightly higher than the "twin".

68 two-person apartments between 50 and 56 square meters are planned there.

Both buildings are connected by two bridges on each floor.

Asklepios describes the roof terrace of the new building with a lounge area and children's playground as a “highlight”.

First the new building, then the renovation of the existing building

Regarding the timing of the construction work, Asklepios announced that the aim was to first build the new building in order to be able to enable the existing tenants to move from one house to another without any problems.

The apartments in the new building are to be rented either to Asklepios employees or to other people, according to a press release.

Horn specifies this to the extent that he speaks of "contingents for employees of social institutions and companies" who also urgently need staff housing.

The 120 required parking spaces can be found on the premises

Lots of new apartments: where do you park then?

A parking garage, says Horn, is not necessary.

The 120 required new parking spaces would be proven on the site.

Regarding previous complaints from tenants about the dilapidated condition of the old building, Asklepios informs that it is aware that the tenants want construction to start as soon as possible.

The lift, which has been out of order for years, is still not functional.

It can no longer be repaired due to a lack of spare parts.
