"Since the state will increasingly renovate state buildings in the next few years, especially with a view to the goal of climate-neutral state administration by 2030, there will be an increased need for alternative offices."
According to a report in the "Stuttgarter Zeitung", desperate tenants, some of whom have lived in the 28 apartments for 45 years, turned to the tenants' association.
In the old buildings, the square meter costs only seven euros.
The chairman of the Stuttgart tenants' association, Rolf Gaßmann, sharply criticizes Finance Minister Danyal Bayaz (Greens).
The project contradicts the coalition agreement, which provides for the strengthening of mixed quarters with living and working opportunities, according to the report.
