Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, affirmed that Iran and Russia have the ability to strengthen bilateral relations between them and this can be facilitated through the relations established between the military administrations of the two countries.
"In recent years, our bilateral cooperation has been steadily expanding, yet we have opportunities to further expand our relations," Interfax quoted Bagheri as saying during talks with the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, today in Moscow.
He added, "The growing relations between the Iranian and Russian armed forces can serve as an additional motivation for expanding cooperation between Moscow and Tehran," noting that cooperation between the two countries continues to expand in various fields, especially in the field of combating terrorism and providing advice on various emerging issues, including in the region and the world.
Bagheri pointed to the signing of several agreements between Tehran and Moscow, which confirms the great importance of relations in both countries.
