The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has warned of telephone fraudsters operating across Germany.
Their latest scam: They pretend to be BKA.
A computer voice usually asks the called party to enter data from the identity cards using the keypad on the phone, as the authority announced on Monday in Wiesbaden.
The calls even show the Wiesbaden telephone area code 0611.
Wiesbaden - In fact, according to the information, the victims are forwarded unnoticed to chargeable numbers.
"In addition, the perpetrators could use their personal data to order goods or commit other crimes in your name," the BKA is waiting.
The authorities advised hanging up on suspicious calls.
