However, the latest investigation by the Consumer Council found that in 60 samples of pre-packaged biscuits, all contaminants generated during processing were detected, including genetic carcinogens glycidol or acrylamide, of which more than 7 Half of it, that is, 46 models detected 3 pollutants at the same time.

Another 85% (51 models) of the samples are "high-fat", "high-sugar" or "high-sodium" foods.

Overall, Fushang’s cheese-flavored soda biscuits and Hokka scored the worst, with only two and a half stars; Guanhua’s battered biscuits had the highest score, reaching five stars.

The Consumer Council reminds consumers of the health risks of eating various types of biscuits, and urges manufacturers to improve their recipes to reduce contaminants, fats, sugars and sodium in foods.

The Consumer Council announced a new issue of the monthly publication "Choice". It took samples of 60 pre-packaged biscuits on the market. Safety tests included testing whether the samples contained contaminants glycidol, acrylamide and chloropropanediol, of which more than 75%. That is, 46 models detected 3 pollutants at the same time.

In this safety test, the lowest scores included MUJI Red Bean Sandwich, Bancheta Digestive Biscuit, Fushangzhipin Cheese Flavor Soda Biscuits (without sucrose), Hokka Biscuits, Blue Diamond Creka, Dare Creka, Synthetic Biscuits .

As far as the glycidol test is concerned, it turns out that there are only 6 types including Gastone Lago wafers, Maivita digestive cakes, 759 Ashin House Crispy Seaweed Soda Crackers, Komaki House High Calcium Soda Crackers (Mustard Flavor), CRICH Kelijia and Blue Diamond Kelijia did not detect glycidyl alcohol. The remaining 54 samples were found to contain glycidyl alcohol. The difference in content is extremely wide, ranging from 11 micrograms per kilogram to more than 3900 micrograms.

Among them, the sample with the highest glycidol content is "Fushang Zhipin", which contains more than 3900 micrograms per kilogram.

As for the acrylamide test, only 5 of the 60 samples included Laijia Wafer, ACE Brand Natural Yeast Extra Strong Whole Wheat Soda, Huntley & Palmers Creka, Nabisco Creka and YBC Creka. Out of acrylamide, the remaining 55 samples were found to contain related ingredients, with the content ranging from 32 micrograms to 620 micrograms per kilogram. Among them, MUJI red bean sandwich cakes had the highest related content, which also exceeded the EU benchmark level.

In addition, the acrylamide of Baibang, Bancheta, Hokka, Blue Diamond, Dare and synthetic biscuits also exceeded the standard.

In addition, another 85 percent (51 models) of the samples are "high-fat", "high-sugar" or "high-sodium" foods.

Calculated per 100 grams, the total fat content of 60 samples ranged from 4.9 g to 41.3 g. Among them, 33 samples reached the "high-fat" food level in the guidelines of the Center for Food Safety.

Among them, the highest total fat content is "Fushang's Products", and the lowest sample is "Mofeng Shiduo".

The saturated fatty acid content of the samples varies greatly, with the highest content reaching 23.7 grams, which is Gastone Lago; the lowest content is 1.2 grams, which is blue diamond, and the difference between the two is nearly 19 times.

In addition, 46 samples were found to have trans fatty acids. The highest content of the wafer sample is Hamada Healthy Cl ub, which contains 1.36 grams of trans fatty acids per 100 grams. Based on this calculation, the consumption of 12 pieces is about 86.4 grams. The intake of trans fatty acids exceeds half of the daily limit of 2.2 grams recommended by the WHO.

In addition, 57 samples in the test were equipped with nutrition labels. Among them, the nutrient content detected in 23 samples exceeded the tolerance limit (20%). The most serious one was the saturated fatty acid detected in the sample of crepe. The content is 76 times different from the label. The Consumer Council has forwarded all test results to the Center for Food Safety for follow-up.
