Erfurt - With the Kyffhäuserkreis, a Thuringian municipality switched to the highest corona warning level for the first time at the weekend in Thuringia.
The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week was 221.7 on Sunday in the region (previous day: 213.5), according to figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
This is the highest value in Thuringia and the eighth highest seven-day incidence in Germany-wide comparison.

On Saturday, the corona infection rate was 129.1.
For some time now, the Free State has had the highest seven-day incidence among the federal states.
According to the RKI, the health authorities reported 938 new infections over the weekend.
