Before the start of the coalition negotiations between the SPD, the Greens and the Left in Berlin, an association of cyclists is calling for more attention to be paid to the expansion of pedestrian and bicycle traffic as well as local public transport.
Climate-friendly infrastructure projects should have priority in terms of personnel and finances over climate-damaging road construction projects such as expressways or the extension of the A100 city motorway, said the Berlin State Association of the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) on Monday.
Berlin - The association also called for faster planning and faster construction of cycle paths as well as more traffic safety measures.
The ADFC also considers a reduction in the number of private cars in Berlin to be necessary, for example with the help of parking fees and the elimination of 60,000 parking spaces annually.
