"The best tourist destination in Rhineland-Palatinate must be created on the Ahr," said the President of the Dehoga Hotel and Restaurant Association in the state, Gereon Haumann, on Monday in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

With a view to the location of many tourist businesses directly on the picturesque Ahr, Haumann called for the "world's best flood protection" for the future.
