A 23-year-old man is said to have stabbed a kiosk operator in Hagen.
Allegedly, there had previously been a dispute over the mask requirement in the shop.
The accused remains silent in court.

The defendant is said to have seriously injured a kiosk operator with several knife stabs in November 2020.
Allegedly there had been an argument between the men the day before because the businessman had informed the customer of the mask requirement in the kiosk.
The charge is attempted manslaughter.
At the beginning of the trial, the defendant did not comment on the allegations.
The kiosk operator suffered serious upper body injuries in the attack.
A rescue helicopter had flown him from the crime scene to a special clinic.
