Over the past weekend, unknown individuals vandalized a club in the Palestinian village of Beit Jala.

This, on the grounds that there was an alcohol-saturated party where men and women danced side by side in mixed dances in violation of religious laws.

Documentation circulated on Palestinian social media shows young people breaking into the events complex in the middle of the night and wreaking havoc on the site.

In the week before the break-in at the club, another video was posted on social media, documenting Arab young men and women dancing mixed in the dance floor, as well as drinking alcoholic-looking drinks.

The reactions to this video were not long in coming: "The revolutionary principles that were in the first intifada - will return," wrote one surfer, "neither to moral corruption nor to openness to sin in an occupied country like ours," another added.

Many of the surfers disregarded the behavior of the guests at the party but at the same time condemned the rioters and demanded that the Palestinian police prosecute the rioters.

The Beit Jala Municipality also condemned the incident: "The Beit Jala Municipality emphasizes the importance of maintaining public and social peace, as well as private protection of private and public institutions based on moral, human and national values. Business owners must commit and meet the approvals given to them by the authorities We hereby emphasize that what happened at the Jabra Salah restaurant in Beit Jala is against the law. "From the authorities and the security services to bear responsibility to maintain the security and property of the residents and to punish anyone who violates anyone who violates regulations and laws."
