The discovery of a suspected explosive device caused a stir in a garden colony in Eberswalde (Barnim).
A 30-year-old Berliner discovered the object after changing users while cleaning up the parcel on Saturday, the police said on Sunday.
The alerted officers and the ordnance disposal service could not have ruled out that the find was a tank shell from WWII.

The garden colony was then evacuated.
During the investigations it turned out that the find was a dummy, reported the police.
Only the detonator was present in the original.
The item was properly disposed of.
