More than 51,000 children in Iran have lost a father or mother as a result of the corona virus.

This was announced by the welfare authorities in Tehran.

One of those boys and girls is four-year-old Eliza who lost her father when he was 40, after contracting the virus.

"She's getting nervous in an instant," Eliza's mother, Afroz, told the BBC.

"She's afraid I'll never come back, like Dad," she said.

Overall, Iran is ranked eighth and certainly not flattering in the number of people infected with the virus (5,784,815), and in 11th place in the number of deaths - 124,075.

At the same time, the Iranian health system is currently dealing with no less than 336,632 active patients, of whom 4,769 are in critical condition.

"Children who lose their parents feel that life is unpredictable," Dr Samina Shahim, a psychologist and leader from London, told the BBC. "Children feel they have little control over their lives.

In the long run, this has serious consequences, while in the short run it increases the risk of trauma and damage to health. "

When it comes to dealing with the corona virus, the leadership of the ayatollah regime is receiving criticism from citizens in two key aspects.

First and foremost, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei last winter banned the import of American or British vaccines.

Since then, Tehran has internalized that this directive is delusional even in local terms - and they have started importing Western-made vaccines, but the damage has already been done in fact the big delay in ordering the vaccines.

However, Iranian President Tehran's executioner Ibrahim Raisi promised after taking office that by the end of September, 70% of the population would be vaccinated.

However, only 20% of the local population has so far received two vaccine doses.

Beyond that, the second major aspect that leads to harsh criticism against the regime by the citizens of Iran is the dire economic situation, following which the death of a father or mother has greatly exacerbated the already bad situation of the many orphans.

"Economic uncertainty and cash flow difficulties may lead older children to leave the education system in order to support their younger siblings," Dr. Shahim concluded.
