Material bottlenecks and rising energy prices are slowing down a stronger upswing in the Saxon economy - especially in industry.

This emerges from the autumn economic survey published on Monday by the Saxon Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

60 percent of the companies surveyed also named a shortage of skilled workers as a risk factor.

Dresden / Chemnitz / Leipzig - Despite the uncertainties, the companies surveyed rated their current situation better and were also more optimistic about the coming months.

The IHK business climate index rose from 98 points in the spring to currently 122 points.

That was a two-year high and even surpassed the pre-crisis level, it said.

This clearly brightened the overall mood.

This was ensured, for example, by the withdrawal of numerous corona restrictions in the summer and a revival in the industry.
