Mutual recognition of vaccine certificates and negotiations on a free trade area:

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met today (Monday) with his Indian counterpart Dr. Jaishenkar at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem.

Ministers have decided to resume negotiations on a free trade agreement between the two countries as early as November, with the aim of having the agreement ready for signing by mid-2022.

In addition, the ministers agreed on mutual recognition of the vaccinator's certificates and, in addition, to expand cooperation in the fields of water and agriculture, which in recent years have become a key anchor in relations between the two countries.

"I thank my friend Dr. Jaishenkar for his visit to Israel," said Foreign Minister Lapid.

We continue in the states of connection and consider India a very important ally for many years.

India is also bringing with it new opportunities for cooperation.

"In the past year, India and Israel have dealt with the corona plague, and we helped each other during the crisis, this is how friends and partners behave."

Following the meeting between the Foreign Ministers, a signing ceremony was held for Israel's accession to the ISA (International Solar Alliance, founded in 2015 at the initiative of India and France). The treaty will allow Israel to contribute its knowledge and experience to the organization.

Energy Minister Karin Elharar attended a meeting between the ministers and signed the agreement on behalf of the Israeli government in the presence of the two foreign ministers.

"Membership in the ISA, along with more than 80 countries that have been blessed with the sun and are promoting solar energy, will enable the State of Israel to contribute and contribute to the global fight against the climate crisis and together promote solutions for a greener future."
