Still no idea where your professional path should lead? Many students are simply overwhelmed by the enormous number of training opportunities. In addition, there is the global pandemic with its consequences for the economy and the associated uncertainty for the professional future for young people. Due to the corona pandemic, the future fair, the career identification day of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, cannot take place as a face-to-face fair this year and had to be canceled.
Since the choice of career is a decision of particular importance, the students should not be left alone. On this occasion, the Zugspitz Region GmbH and Radio Oberland have joined forces and are jointly offering the “job trip”. A kind of company hopping through the Oberland, with a focus on the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district. The Zugspitz Region GmbH and Radio Oberland organize buses and drive the schoolchildren from company to company free of charge. The companies involved organize a small open day, where they let the young people take a look behind the scenes and tell them about everyday work and training opportunities.
The starting shot was fired on October 12, when the companies GEPE Geimuplast in Farchant, the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn in Grainau and the district office in Garmisch-Partenkirchen were visited one after the other. So that the young people don't get bored on the bus trip, Radio Oberland is on board with a moderator and reports live from the job trip bus what is most important to the young people in the district when choosing a career, how they can find out about apprenticeships and whether maybe the dream job was found on the day of the action. “We thought back and forth for a long time about which format we could offer under the current conditions. In our opinion, digital events - such as a digital trade fair - are not particularly well received or simply cannot offer an exchange,which is necessary for professional orientation ”, says Andrea Mohr from Zugspitz Region GmbH. Mohr is the project manager for the campaign and is pleased to be able to offer an alternative to career orientation for the young people in the district with the job trip. “It only took a few weeks from the idea to implementation, so we had to be very flexible and act quickly.
