The district council leaves a back door open.

Freising

- The agency agreement between the Freising and Rechts der Isar clinics is history.

After the supervisory board of the local hospital, as already reported, the district council has now also given its approval.

This means: in future, the managing director, or in the specific case the managing director, of the clinic will no longer be appointed and paid from Munich, but from Freising.

However, the district council has left a back door open.

With the agency agreement, the Klinikum rechts der Isar took over the management of Klinikum Freising GmbH in 2005. In order to fulfill this task, the Munich hospital had undertaken to name a managing director, who is to be appointed by the supervisory board. Up to now it employed the managing director as a separate employee and at its own expense. The Freising Clinic paid the cooperation partner an annual fee for this.

In May 2021, Rechts der Isar approached the chairman of the supervisory board of the Freising Clinic, District Administrator Helmut Petz, with the request that this contract be canceled by mutual agreement.

The supervisory board in Freising has granted this request because the hospital is strategically well-equipped for the future on the basis of the work of the task force and, with the new managing director, Maren Kreuzer, can also be run economically on its own.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The business management by the Klinikum rechts der Isar was beneficial when the economically independent continued existence of the Klinikum Freising was on the brink, stressed Petz.

Now there is no longer any need for business management.

It no longer brings any advantages to the Freising Clinic, but it causes high costs.

All other partnerships with Rechts der Isar will remain in place

On the part of the district committees, however, the wish was expressed to take precautions in the event that the Freising Clinic could no longer be run economically on its own. For example, because the current managing director can no longer continue her previously successful work for the clinic. The district council has therefore commissioned Petz to work towards a contractual agreement with the law of the Isar. A so-called "agency on request" is to be guaranteed. Means: The supervisory board of the Freising Clinic should be able to demand that the Clinic on the right of the Isar take over the management again if necessary, in return for an annual basic remuneration.

All other collaborations with the Klinikum rechts der Isar remain unaffected by this legal measure.

According to Petz, they should be continued and even intensified.
