The Chief Executive’s Office issued a statement late at night, stating that Chief Executive Carrie Lam fell down at Government House yesterday (18) and went to the hospital on her own. After a doctor’s examination, it was confirmed that her right elbow was slightly fractured.
According to the doctor's recommendation, Carrie Lam will stay in the hospital for observation and take a temporary leave.
Today (19th) the executive meeting will be adjourned, and the media meeting before the meeting will be cancelled.
During Carrie Lam’s leave, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Li Jiachao, will act as the Chief Executive.
