This year more than 1000 women and men have collected all 222 stamps at stations in Saxony-Anhalt, Lower Saxony and Thuringia and are allowed to call themselves Harzer Wanderkaiser or Harzer Wanderkaiserin. There is a pin made of resin rock, a certificate and a title of nobility derived from the first name, including an entry in the online majesty list. Children up to the age of 11 can call themselves a wandering princess if they have collected 11 of the stamps - just under 2,800 so far in 2021.
In addition to the extensive Harz tour, the Harz hiking pin also offers special themed tours.
The "Klosterwanderweg" leads to monasteries, monastery gardens and churches, the "Harzer Baudensteig" connects "the most beautiful forest restaurants and mountain inns".
The "Harzer Geschichtsorte" have 32 special stamp points, where the hiker stops at fortified towers and dungeons, ballrooms and treasure chambers.
And finally, the “Lutherweg” follows in the footsteps of the reformer.
There are booklets for all tours - and special stamps on all routes.
