Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Ukraine's involvement in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) threatens Russia's national interests and may push it to take effective measures to protect its security.
"Ukraine's entry into NATO is the worst scenario that crosses the red line of Russia's national interests," Peskov said in an interview with France's Channel 5 TV and published in Moscow today.
"This scenario is qualified to compel Russia to take effective measures to ensure its own security," Peskov added.
