The SPD, the Greens and the Left in Berlin will begin their coalition negotiations on Friday.
The SPD announced this on Monday when asked by the dpa.
Accordingly, preliminary talks are initially planned on Wednesday and Thursday.
The negotiations really start on Friday with the so-called umbrella group, which consists of top politicians from all three parties.
Berlin - This body should meet regularly in the coming weeks. At the end of the day, it is there that decisions are made about what will be recorded in what form in the coalition agreement. The points are worked out by 16 working groups that cover certain subject areas.
In the previous week, the three parties, which have governed together since 2016, agreed on 19 guidelines that should form the basis for future cooperation and coalition negotiations.
The points anchored there include more housing, a functioning administration, the employment of teachers, more posts in the police, more attention to the economy and a “decade of investment”.
The SPD, the Greens and the Left also want to set up a commission of experts who, after the successful referendum for the expropriation of large housing companies, should examine “possibilities, ways and prerequisites for implementation”.
