The chairman of the Stuttgart Aircraft Noise Commission, Christof Bolay, has spoken out in favor of a trial run of the planned and controversial new departure route.
His suggestion to the aircraft noise commission was "not to create new facts immediately, but to test the new departure route for a limited period of around one year and then incorporate the experience into a re-evaluation," said Bolay of the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" and the "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" " (Monday).
Stuttgart - From the departure route to the south proposed by the airlines Lufthansa and Eurowings, some municipalities would be less exposed to noise, while others would be more.
Bolay defended the plans for the new route.
Much larger areas would be relieved, said the mayor of Ostfildern (Esslingen district).
"After weighing all the circumstances and if I take into account the interests of all people affected by aircraft noise in the Stuttgart region, the new route is a great opportunity," said the SPD politician.
"And then I ask you to see that new flight routes cannot simply be shaken out of your sleeve."

Lower Saxony municipal associations support the proposal to tax parcels from large online retailers in order to strengthen brick-and-mortar retail.

Several citizens' groups want to prevent the route from being changed. In an online petition, they demand, among other things, the stop of the route change and more transparency in the process.
