The invasion of Taiwan is played out every year in the greatest secrecy, in the heart of the Pentagon: American “blue” forces against Chinese “red” forces, for a huge kriegspiel supposed to predict the real confrontation feared by strategists.
However, since this kriegspiel has existed, the chances of American victory have diminished.
In 2018, one of the “gurus” of these simulations suggested to the generals to put an end to the exercise, each scenario leading to an inevitable victory for the adversary and no longer presenting much intellectual interest, given the insoluble imbalance between the belligerents.
