No wonder: the best weather and a good atmosphere lured people, especially after having had to do without similar festivals for so long.

Taufkirchen

- This is how the weekend can begin after a hearty breakfast: In wonderful weather in front of the idyllic backdrop of the moated castle, stroll across the meadow, meet lovely people to chat and buy beautiful unique items, useful or kitschy items, preferably already for Christmas.

The TaufKirt market last weekend offered all of this.

Kirta delicacies and cakes from the Vilstal farmers' market, something tasty from the crepe stand or a stop in the Bräustüberl or in the castle restaurant rounded off the offer.

A visit to the market was a relaxing treat, especially on a sunny Saturday.

Already in the morning there were an unusually large number of visitors.

Once again, the Ernst family provided music. She opened the market with a snappy march. There were wonderful, practical and many sustainable and environmentally friendly things to discover for the visitors. A wood turner offered original bowls, pepper shakers or coffee powder spoons for sale. Insect hotels and homemade soaps were offered, as well as antiques, old jewelry, felted slippers, fashion, cloths, self-made cards, ceramics, precious items made of wood and much more. A quill pen demonstrated his craft.

Mayor Stefan Haberl had invited colleagues, former and current councilors, citizens' medal holders, representatives of the Wasserschloss Foundation, the Kommunitas Foundation and business enterprises to the opening.

He was pleased that there were also young, regional ones among the 20 or so exhibitors, and thanked employee Angela Kräutler for organizing the market and the building yard, which had prepared everything.
