An article devoted to two TikTokers from Argenteuil did not please a feminist collective from Val-d'Oisien at all. He replied to them with coll

Hakim and Mohamed enjoy a certain notoriety in Argenteuil, in particular at the ZUP.

They are from the neighborhood and work there as mediators for the town hall, but it is especially their videos on TikTok that have made them known throughout the city and far beyond.

In an article in Le Parisien on September 23, they recounted their success on this social network.

They make short humorous videos about the behavior of men and women.

In a few weeks, they had exceeded 30,000 subscribers (they are well beyond today) and even find themselves responding to requests for marriage counseling.

The reactions to this article have been very encouraging in the neighborhood.

“Everyone has told us good things about it.

People were happy that we are talking about the Val-d'Argent North in a positive way.

Throughout the city, it grew, even at the town hall they were happy, ”says Hakim.

But other readers of Le Parisien were on the other hand very annoyed by the comments made in these videos.

"It is extremely shocking because it is a kind of sexism, in fact", reacts Eina, member of the collective Heroines of Val-d'Oise. This group has pasted posters in Argenteuil to respond to the comments made by Hakim and Mohamed in their videos. In addition to the fact that they consider that these videos make abusive generalizations towards women, they particularly target the one entitled "The Language of Women". This is a skit that is ironic about the fact that women would often express the opposite of what they want to say.

“To say

no

means

yes

is extremely shocking. It reinforces the culture of rape. It suggests that we should not listen to women, ”contests Eina. But it is all the videos that they find sexist. "If every time you change the word woman to black, it'll jump out at you that it's not positive," Eina adds. And then it's really the 1950s, their image of women. "

“They are on the wrong track,” says Hakim.

What we do is always with kindness and respect.

He takes as proof the many comments posted under the videos, which are laudatory in the vast majority of cases.

“It's humor, we target things that speak to everyone.

We are not generalizing, we are talking about extreme cases, ”he adds.

He admits that the "Women's Language" video may not have been the best they've made.

"It was the first, maybe she was clumsy," he says.

He had no idea that she was associated with the rape.

Hakim said to himself that it would undoubtedly be useful if they could meet the feminist collective.

In the future, the duo plan to continue making videos, but not always humorous.

Recently, they made one about a teacher violently jostled in a high school in Combs-la-Ville (Seine-et-Marne).

“We did it spontaneously to denounce this act,” he explains.

The number of subscribers has jumped and reached 43,000. "And to prove that we are in the benevolence, we are going to make other videos to restore the image of the woman and to protect her", adds Hakim.
