The Montmorency treasury attic up for auction

Found in one of the family's chateaux, several souvenirs of the art of entertainment under the Ancien Régime were sold on October 19 in Drouot.


As in all of eighteenth-century Europe, France was enthusiastic about the art of entertainment, the pomp of the court under the Ancien Régime.

Chinese cabinets with porcelain decorations have flourished everywhere, under the influence of exotic tales from distant embassies and imports from the French East India Company.

Until the Revolution, it will be the heyday of garden factories, pyrotechnic fire shows and indoor games.
