The number of new retirees in Schleswig-Holstein has continued to rise.
With almost 26,900 new retirees, there were over 500 more people in 2020 than in the previous year, as Deutsche Rentenversicherung Nord announced on Monday.
Around 12,700 of the new retirees received a regular old-age pension.
This means that they worked until they reached the statutory retirement age.
Kiel - The retirement age for the regular old-age pension is currently - for those born in 1956 - 65 years and ten months.
The standard retirement age will gradually increase to 67 years by 2031.
A good 7,600 of the new retirees received a deduction-free old-age pension, provided they had reached the age of 63 and paid 45 years into their pension.
In the previous year there were 150 fewer people.
Around 5,000 women and men received an old-age pension for long-term insured persons.
This pension is paid at the earliest after reaching the age of 63.
An insurance period of at least 35 years is required.
There is a 0.3 percent discount for each month of early retirement.
