After a hiatus of about three years due to the rehabilitation work of the Arab Cultural Center in Salamiyah, the Poetry Festival returned with a unique launch that quenched the thirst and passion of intellectuals and those interested in the poetry and literature movement.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Sami Taha, Director of Culture in Hama, said: When we are in Salamiyah, we feel the presence of thought, culture and creativity in its various manifestations, and with the launch of its poetry festival after a three-year hiatus in its twentieth session, the poetic movement in the province regains its usual activity and movement to meet the desire of the eager public for this ancient festival.
He pointed out that the festival, whose activities were launched yesterday, is being held with great interest by the Ministry of Culture as evidence of its great status and importance, as poets from Salamiyah city participate exclusively to present their creative output in the cultural center whose rehabilitation work has reached its final stages.
Poet Thana Al-Ahmad, participating in the festival, saw that the return of this event brings back with it the strong movement of literature, poetry and culture in Salamiyah, pointing out that her participation was represented by a group of prose texts that translate her thoughts, feelings and emotional and patriotic messages.
The poet Amin Harba saw that poetry is a message of love and goodness for the homeland and its children, expressing his happiness to participate in the festival, where he recited a poem entitled Subhah Al Watan, which is dedicated to the lady of love, beauty and history, Damascus.
For his part, the poet Faiq Moussa presented two poems, one of them for a peaceful city, in which he mentioned its history, glories, cultural role, and its relationship to the homeland and man.
