Former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit on Monday seeking to block any delivery of documents that the committee investigating the Jan.6 assault on the Capitol has requested from the National Archives.
The lawsuit names the Congressional committee and the National Archives as defendants.
He says the committee's request for records is invalid because the committee has no investigative power.
He adds that the material must be protected by the so-called executive privilege.

In summary, the plaintiff files this action requesting that the court invalidate the committee's requests and prohibit the archivist from releasing the records in question.
At a minimum, the court should prohibit the archivist from producing any potentially privileged records until Trump can conduct a full privileged review of all requested materials, ”states the lawsuit released by NBC News.
