Irschenberg / Weyarn - After a trailer detached itself on the A8 near Irschenberg, the police had to catch a cow near Weyarn.
Around 10 a.m. on Sunday (October 17) on the A8 motorway in the direction of Munich, shortly after the Irschenberg junction, there was an accident with an SUV trailer loaded with two motorcycles.
"A 65-year-old from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was driving in the right-hand lane when the entire trailer coupling came loose from his vehicle for an unexplained cause and the trailer was no longer connected to the SUV," said the Holzkirchen motorway police station.
The trailer tipped over and the motorcycles fell on the road.
A subsequent truck driver recognized the dangerous situation in good time and was able to easily park his trailer behind the scene of the accident in order to protect the scene of the accident and the following traffic until the police arrived.
Nobody was harmed during the accident.
There was property damage, which the police could not quantify at first.
The motorway had to be partially closed while the accident was being recorded.
Cow goes on a trip
At the same time, several messages were received from concerned citizens who saw a cow on the edge of the road shortly after the Weyarn junction on the A8 in the direction of Munich.
"The animal could quickly be assigned to its owner, who then takes care of the capture with the help of the police," reports the Holzkirchen motorway police station.
"Since the animal was behind the guardrail, there were no dangerous situations."
