No carnival without Würmesia: The carnival authority in the Würmtal and the surrounding area has lost members, and there will be no children's guard this year.
But also this year there will be dancing.

- “We are definitely on 11.11. on Marienplatz. “Carnival starts this year as usual. Harald Zipfel, Vice President of the Faschingsgesellschaft, does not yet want to say with which prince couple the Würmesia will appear there. “We won't reveal that before November 11th.” But one thing is certain: there is a youth guard and the normal guard. “We even found a farmer's ballet.” Only a children's guard will not exist this year, the members have partly outgrown it. Lockdown and school would also have contributed to the decimation. But Harald Zipfel is confident: "There will definitely be a children's guard again - next season."
Overall, the carnival society has lost members. Zipfel speaks of losses of up to eight percent. “We were able to motivate most people to stay.” But when there is no club life, some consider whether to remain a member or save the membership fees. “Maybe one or the other will come back now,” says Zipfel. Because now there is club life again. As far as the dancers are concerned, says Zipfel, who is also the mayor of Neuried, “they practice hard with me in the multi-purpose hall”. Not only the club, but also the carnival should now be filled with life. "We practice, we train and hope that we can present something accordingly." Zipfel says the members are motivated and says: "We want."
