With electronic restraint: The teacher suspected of committing sexual offenses on his student will be released under house arrest

Yotam Okon, the suspect will be released under house arrest this coming Thursday.

According to the suspect, Okon had a sexual conversation with the 13-year-old on WhatsApp and even invited her to his home - where he sexually assaulted her.

Yotam Okon, who was arrested on suspicion of having sexual conversations with his 13-year-old student and even sexually assaulted her after inviting her to his home, will be released under house arrest this coming Thursday.

Yotam Okon, the teacher at an elementary school in Tel Aviv who is suspected of committing sexual offenses with his 13-year-old student, will be released on Thursday under house arrest with electronic restraint, Tel Aviv District Court Judge Shmuel Melamed decided today (Monday).

Okon is suspected, among other things, of having sexual conversations with the girl on WhatsApp, and asked her to send him nude photos of her and take a video of herself while committing sexual acts.

Advocate Tamar Klenberg-Levy, representing the 13-year-old student, said that "the family of the complainant against the accused teacher is disappointed with the court's decision to release the accused teacher for rape and other offenses.

The family fears that the defendant will try to use the media available to him in order to exert direct or indirect pressure on the 13-year-old girl and her social environment, and sees his release as a possibility to risk the minor's condition and her sense of security. "

The complaint against Okon was filed by the student's mother, who saw the correspondence between her and the teacher.

The mother went to school about seven months ago, so they started a hearing and fired the teacher.

Two weeks before the publication of the case, the mother filed a complaint with the police in the Yarkon area.

During the interrogation, Okon admitted that he had a sexual relationship with the girl, and linked himself to the suspicions against him.
