Hundreds of believers in Neufahrn celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Catholic parish of St. Francis with a festive service in front of the town hall.
Neufahrn
- Although Neufahrn had its own church around the year 800 and was a famous place of pilgrimage in the 17th and 18th centuries, the village belonged to the parish of Eching until 1921. As the main celebrant at the festive service, Auxiliary Bishop Bernhard Haßlberger conveyed the congratulations of the diocese leadership. In addition to the local priest Wolfgang Lanzinger, the former pastor Dr. Otto Mittermeier, Otto Stangl and Hippolyte Ibalayam. Deacon Günter Gerhardinger and pastoral consultants Mathias Gradl, Julia Mokry and Christina Brandl-Bommer also celebrated.
Mayor Franz Heilmeier, who himself was a pastoral consultant in Neufahrn 20 years ago, pointed out that Saint Francis is a lively and progressive parish.
Many of its members have helped shape the place, in the municipal council as well as in social and social cohesion.
The spatial proximity between the town hall and the church is a symbol of the good cooperation.

Ecumenical cooperation has a very long tradition in Neufahrn.
This is also clear in the sponsorship of the social station, which is shared by the community, the Protestant church community and the Catholic parish.
A standing reception - Corona-compliant in the Franziskussaal and outdoors - rounded off the festive day.
