There was a fierce clash in November of the previous year on the Second Bridge of CUHK, and many people were arrested afterwards. Among them, 5 male and female students of CUHK denied riots and other crimes and were tried. The case was originally a district court case and moved to the West Kowloon Court today (19th) In the sentence, Zhang Jieyi, deputy judge of the District Court, said that the riots were serious crimes and the court had to slam the troublemakers, otherwise the society would have to pay a heavy price. The defendants were sentenced to 4 years and 9 months and 4 years and 11 months respectively.
4 male and 1 female defendants: Liu Jinxu (22 years old), Fu Kaiqing (23 years old, female), Gao Zibin (23 years old), Chen Lishi (20 years old) and Xu Yizhuan (22 years old), involved in Hong Kong on November 11, 2019 The Jockey Club postgraduate dormitory of the Chinese University of China took part in the riot near No. 2 Bridge and Huanhui East Road. They were all CUHK students.
They were each charged with the crime of using masked objects in an illegal assembly, respectively, with masks, hoods, scarves and other masks.
Fu Kaiqing and Xu Yizhuan were also charged with one count of possession of offensive weapons or other tools suitable for illegal purposes. Fu involved possession of a screwdriver and a metal hammer, while Xu Ze was accused of possession of a wrench.
According to the prosecution plan, riots broke out on the Second Bridge of China University on the same day. The protesters used garbage trucks as cover four times to attack the police defense line. After the fourth attack, the police launched a dispersal and arrest operation. Five defendants were arrested on the spot.
