52 young men and women from different governorates took part in an exceptional adventure to climb the highest peak overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in the Syrian coast (Chalma and Selindrin peaks), which reaches a height of 1062 meters above sea level, with a new experience that is the first of its kind in the history of local sports activities.

In contrast to the other paths that start from the top and reach the seashore, the participants in the walk, which was organized by the (Syrian Adventurer) team of the Higher Committee for External Activities in the Syrian Arab Sports Federation for All, set off for two days from Al-Badrosiyah beach, following an agricultural path in which the path started simple and easy, but what If they reached an altitude of 500 metres, they found themselves in front of one option, which is the complete incursion among the bushes, shrubs and thorny plants, and they had to make their way on their own, taking advantage of the paths dug by the wild boars as they wandered through the mountains to reach the summit at exactly six in the afternoon.

“Feelings of astonishment and admiration were clearly visible on everyone’s faces and their eyes that started contemplating the scene of the setting sun as it gathered its threads and drowned in the sea, which turned into mirrors reflecting the most beautiful verses and the page of the sky that the twilight dyed with a mixture of warm and reassuring colors,” Ibrahim Saud said. The team leader told SANA's youth reporter, pointing out that the aim of the activity is to enhance the youth's confidence in the ability of the person to achieve his goals, no matter what the difficulties may be, as long as he has the determination and determination.

He said, "For this purpose, we designed this experience elaborately, as each progression in the specified path, the participants find themselves in front of a series of stunning landscapes and amazing views of the sea, which overlaps with the land in wonderful aesthetic formations."

Saud explained that the stop at the summit lasted about an hour to ensure the arrival of everyone and regroup before continuing on the night walk under the moonlight to reach the main camping site in the middle of the mountain, where we relied on heating on clothes, sleeping bags and personal tents, avoiding setting fires because of its danger at this time of the year.

Young Hassan Idris, 29 years old, an agricultural engineering graduate from Tartous Governorate, was the first to reach the top. He expressed his happiness to participate in this experience that helped them harness the experiences they gained from previous experiences to overcome the difficulties they faced.

As for the young woman, Aya Abdel Hamid, 23, a Hadid and fitness trainer from Lattakia, she was the first to reach the end point on the way back to talk about the interesting and enjoyable atmosphere mixed with the element of surprise and feelings of anticipation of the unknown that she experienced with the participants to explore their way in the thick fog.

She said, "We all cooperated in packing personal belongings and continued to the Chalama spring, relying on the skills we had always trained in locating in the event of lack of coverage, including using the compass and fixed maps to choose the right direction and access to the spring, where the participants were provided with fresh water, and we set out on a journey back to the shore via a road Kasb al-Badrosiyah indicates that the entire route is 25 km long.

"All of us are able to reach our goals," said young doctor Lana Safaya from Jaramana.

And the participants in the march from the governorates of Lattakia, Aleppo, Homs, Damascus and its countryside, Tartous, Hama, As-Suwayda and Deir ez-Zor.
