Rural Damascus-SANA
A campaign was launched in the mountains of Yabroud, in the governorate of Damascus Countryside, to plant sap seedlings, in addition to seedlings of fir, fruitful pine, almonds, walnuts, rice and Mahlab, and will continue until the end of this year.
The head of the local council, Ayman Haidar, said in a statement to SANA’s delegate that the campaign aims to revive the endangered larch trees in the Qalamoun Mountains.
Haidar explained that seedlings of these trees were planted, which are suitable for dry areas, as they do not need much water, pointing out that the seedlings and mechanisms in the campaign were provided free of charge with the support of a member of the local council.
It is noteworthy that glutamate is one of the forest trees known in Syria and is characterized by a high ability to resist various harsh environmental conditions.
