The AfD parliamentary group in the Schwerin state parliament has nominated Eva-Maria Schneider-Gärtner as a candidate for the post of vice-president of the state parliament.
“The moment I hold the office of Vice President, I am committed to strict party-political neutrality.
I will fully live up to this obligation and de-escalate, compensate and exercise my office, "said the AfD politician on Tuesday, according to a statement.
Schwerin (dpa / mv) - From their point of view, it should be a democratic matter of course that the largest opposition faction should have a vice-president.
In the previous legislative period, the party had not filled either of the two vice-presidents.
The AfD was also the largest opposition faction in the old parliament.
