A good three weeks after the federal election, according to climate activists, the date for a meeting with SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz is set.
The conversation was planned for November 12th at 4:00 pm, announced the “Last Generation” group on Tuesday evening, to which the former hunger strikers Lea Bonasera and Henning Jeschke belong.
"It corresponds to our appointment request," it said in a tweet.
Berlin - The approximately one and a half hour conversation about the climate emergency should be broadcast live, said a spokeswoman for Lea and Henning of the dpa.
"Now that we have agreed on the date today, a few details about the framework will now be discussed." The location still has to be determined and how many participants can actually be there.
After weeks without food and finally also without liquid, Jeschke and Bonasera broke off their hunger strike in Berlin on September 25th.
Scholz had previously agreed to hold a public discussion.
This should initially take place within the next four weeks after the general election.
The spokeswoman said that Henning and Jeschke would not meet this deadline.

The 21-year-old Jeschke went on a hunger strike with a group of young people at the end of August, his 24-year-old campaigner Bonasera joined them later.
While others broke off the hunger strike, the two only ended the campaign on the day before the general election.
They had asked Scholz to declare a climate emergency.
