As a police spokeswoman said on Tuesday, investigations have shown that the man dumped fire accelerators in the house directly behind the front door on Monday morning and infected the whole thing.
He was so badly burned that he died and precise identification was not yet possible.
The police and the public prosecutor's office have so far counted on the fact that the dead person is the 63-year-old homeowner.

According to information from District Court Director Sascha Ott, there are many such proceedings due to energy debts, so that it was not apparent in advance that there was a risk.
A spokesman for the Stralsund public prosecutor said that an autopsy of the corpse by forensic doctors should soon bring final clarity to the identity.
The people involved were not physically injured and, according to the police, received pastoral care afterwards.
The amount of damage to the house is still unclear, it said.
