More than a month after a possibly Islamist-motivated knife attack in a Berlin green area, the police are looking for several specific witnesses.
A video of the incident in Wilmersdorf showed a total of four people in the immediate vicinity, the police said on Tuesday: a passer-by with dark red trousers, a cyclist on Prinzregentenstrasse, a cyclist on Güntzelstrasse and a man in a car, that stopped at the intersection of the two streets.
Berlin - The State Criminal Police Office urges all four witnesses to report to the police.
A woman and a man were seriously injured with knife stabs in the neck on September 4, and the woman was then in mortal danger.
The 66-year-old man came to the woman's aid.
Both had to be operated on in the hospital.
The suspect is a 29-year-old Afghan.
According to police, he is said to have previously spoken to the 58-year-old landscape gardener because he was allegedly bothered by the fact that she was working as a woman.
Accordingly, there are indications of an Islamist motive.
