Distinguished artworks that were identified with the beauty of the place and the fragrance of history were the product of the Agafi Forum for oil painting, which returned to the corridors of the National Museum in Lattakia, from which it was launched in 2015.

The forum will be held in cooperation between the Directorates of Fine Arts and Lattakia Culture, with the participation of the United Nations Development Program, bringing together an elite of Lattakia artists and young talents who were able to make a place for themselves on the fine art scene.

The artists participating in the forum, Farid Raslan, Kaed Haider, Muhammad Asaad Smouqan, Mario Youssef, Muhannad Aladdin, Zuhair Qaqhour, Nawar Murli, Tayseer Ramadan, Rana Othman, Nujoud Saeed and Shiraz Darwish, presented about thirty artworks that were characterized by the diversity of themes and techniques used that highlighted the depth and specificity of each artist's experience, a problem of a state of visual artistic dialogue that added Its character on the beauty and heritage of the place.

The Director of Culture in Lattakia Majd Sarim explained in a statement to Sana Cultural that the forum returns in this session to Lattakia, from which it was launched after it was moved in several governorates with the participation of veteran and young artists, noting the contribution of the Future Youth Team of the United Nations Development Program to the success of the forum by providing various necessary equipment To the participants, stressing at the same time the Ministry of Culture's support for any initiative that contributes to the development of community culture as a participatory process.

The plastic artist, Kaed Haidar, pointed to the importance of the forums in bringing together the different artistic generations to learn about the cultural climate of young people and their experiences, who present important works in an open place that allows everyone to see the stages of the formation of the painting.

The artist Smouqan considered that the forums are very important because they bring artists together, in addition to introducing art connoisseurs to the stages of making work, noting the many experiences of artists who formed a surprise through the aesthetics and distinction of their works.

The artist, Zuhair Qaqour, who participated in two works, chose in one of them a scene from the museum that combines natural beauty and antiquities, presenting a documentary case and at the same time an artistic work that carries an aesthetic.

The artist Mario Youssef saw in the Agafi Forum, which bears the legend of a girl who sacrificed herself to protect the city of Latakia as a beautiful inheritance for our history through art, praising the works of young artists, which constituted a beautiful surprise and promising a promising future for the Forum to present high-level works despite the short implementation period.

The head of the branch of the Union of Fine Artists in Lattakia, Farid Raslan, who participated in two works, confirmed that the forums allow the artist to see his message and his idea to reach the audience, who stands in the various stages of its formation, to create a frank dialogue between them that pushes the artist to make a greater effort to complete the work and helps him to benefit from the experiences of the participants in terms of technology or treatment. The Agavi Forum, which was launched on the 13th of this month, will conclude next Thursday with an art exhibition.
