According to the study, Berlin can currently offer its citizens a decent all-day offer: Nine out of ten families who apply for an all-day place have accordingly received this place in recent years.

However, the youth institute expects that the need will increase as soon as a legal right to a full-time place should exist.

According to the institute, there will be a shortage of around 600,000 full-day places nationwide by 2029.

There is a particularly high demand in the western German territorial states.
