Did Archie make it into the current top ten?
London - The Office for National Statistics has released the most popular baby names in England and Wales for 2020.
Once again it shows how inspiring the name choice of the Mini-Royals is for young parents.
For the first time, the son of Duchess Meghan (40) and Prince Harry (37), born in May 2019, has placed himself in the top ten most popular boy names: Archie has ousted Charlie as a popular name. * It is the first time since 2005 that Charlie does not occupy a place in the top ten.

It is not without a certain irony that an allusion to the name of his grandfather Prince Charles * (72) has to give way to the name Archie.
But statisticians naturally see it much more pragmatically: "Archie has risen to the top 10 boy names for the first time, which is due to both younger mothers and the obvious connection to the royal family," is the factual interpretation of the statistics office and lays royal with others male first names.

The name of Prince George (8) ranks second, just behind the most popular non-royal name Oliver.
Prince Harry's name occupies eighth place, while for the baptismal name Prince Williams (39) it is only tenth for mothers over 35 years of age.
Arthur, the name chosen by Duchess Kate's (39) sister Pippa (38) and her husband James Matthews (46), also lands in a front place and is third behind Archie.
Noah also remains undisputedly popular with the British.
Princess Eugenies * (31) husband Jack Brooksbank (35) can also look forward to a first name that is popular these days: Jack is in 10th place.

Sussex baby number two, Lilibet Diana (born June 4th), has also found a place in the top ten most popular girl names.
Lily is in 5th place (among 30-34-year-old mothers), with Duchess Meghan * and Prince Harry from Lilibet, the nickname Queen Elizabeth II * (95), who, strictly speaking, want to establish Lili as their nickname.
Three other royal names can be found in the top ten in the girls' ranking.

Amelia is second behind Olivia.
Lady Amelia Windsor * (26), who is known underhand as the “most beautiful royal family member”, is way ahead of Isla and Mia, both names given to the monarch's great-grandchildren.
Isla Phillips (9) is the second child of Peter Phillips (43) and his ex-wife Autumn (43) *, while Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall (40) and her husband Mike (43) named their firstborn Mia (7).
Where the newest member of the royal family will end up can probably be seen in the statistics for the coming year.
Princess Beatrice (33) and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (38) have baptized their daughter Sienna Elizabeth *.
