The Moosburg fire brigade was well positioned at the general assembly on Saturday.

And with an amendment to the statutes, it paved the way for young people from the age of twelve.

volunteer fire brigade had to reorganize itself over the past two years.

Fire brigade work in Corona times was difficult, reported chairman Christian Brülbeck at the annual general meeting on Saturday evening in the town hall - especially in youth work: familiar exercises were not allowed to take place due to the hygiene rules.

And that is precisely what is “permanently important” for the next generation, according to Brülbeck.

Required in heavy rain: 15 missions at a time

Due to the corona pandemic, the number of deployments (265 in 2021) and the total hours worked (3933 in 2021) have also decreased.

The heavy rain missions in June demanded a lot from the active: they worked 15 hours “at a stretch” in the storm night, commander Gerhard Hochleitner reminded them.

The acid leak in a Moosburg chemical factory was also a challenge.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.

The time of the pandemic was used to bring the system at the tool shed on Leinbergerstrasse up to date.

The hose washing system has been renewed and industrial washing machines and dryers have been purchased in order to keep the work clothing in good condition.

In addition, the toilet facility has been modernized.

"All work that you don't see as an outsider," said Hochleitner.

He also thanked for the good cooperation with the district fire brigades.

Despite the changed exercise situation, nine young members had completed the squad training, five of them were allowed to be trained to wear respiratory protection.

Entry age lowered

In order to get young people enthusiastic about the fire brigade even earlier, an amendment to the statutes was suggested.

Brülbeck said the age at entry is to be reduced from the current 16 to twelve years.

Background: At the age of 16, many young people are already active in other clubs.

The earlier you can generate offspring, the better.

The amendment to the statutes was adopted unanimously.

KBI Andreas Müller praised the fact that not a single fire brigade in the district had to be quarantined during the corona pandemic, that was probably due to the prudence of all managers.

In order to be able to comply with all requirements of the hygiene regulations, the meeting on Saturday was not held in the fire station as usual, but in the Moosburger Stadthalle.

Even if one had to forego the usual snack at the beginning of the event, one is happy to at least be able to hold the new elections, so Brülbeck.

Christian Schafhauser is the new 2nd chairman

According to the schedule, these would actually have been due last year.

As first chairman, Christian Brülbeck received the unanimous trust of his comrades again.

The office of his deputy has been filled.

From the ranks of the younger generation, Christian Schafhauser made himself available and succeeded Gerhard Danner, who left the board after two terms.
