With the citizen medal and the silver pin, the municipality of Kranzberg honored volunteer citizens.

Long-term local councilors have also received awards.

Kranzberg

- This social commitment has to be rewarded: Hans Bäumel, Hermann Ostermeier, Matthias Rattenhuber, Ludwig Rattenstetter and Ferdinand Rottenfußer have done voluntary service for society over decades - and all without saying much about it.

For this they were allowed to receive the citizen's medal and the silver pin from the Kranzberg community on Monday evening.

These were presented by Mayor Hermann Hammerl and Former Mayor Robert Scholz in the ballroom on Pantaleonsberg.

"Without associations, a large part of our culture would collapse," said the laudatory speaker of the evening, former mayor Robert Scholz.

A huge part of the quality of life for everyone would be lost if there were not people who keep the clubs alive.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.

Hans Bäumel was active in the fire brigade for 63 years

Hans Bäumel did this for 63 years for the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Kranzberg.

During his time as commandant, which spanned over three decades, four FFW vehicles were purchased, two fire stations were built and the badge of achievement was introduced, the manager in the Kranzberg town hall, Hannelore Neumann, praised the merits of the honoree.

Because he was unable to attend the celebration for health reasons, Commander Erich Frank accepted the award on his behalf.

"We'll bring him the medal, pin and certificate personally," said Hammerl.

Hermann Ostermeier lend a hand at many festivities

"Can you remember a party in Kranzberg that you weren't there?" Asked Neumann - "Hard work in the middle of it?" and foundation festivals or when roasting fish on a stick.

“It doesn't work without the Kranzberg chef,” praised Neumann.

Matthias Rattenhuber campaigned for his hometown Thalhausen

Matthias Rattenhuber did a lot for his hometown Thalhausen.

He was always a "controversial" advocate of Thalhausen in the district town councils, said Neumann.

He took over driving services, always kept an eye on that there was order along the state road.

Member of the FFW Thalhausen, the parish council Wippenhausen and church caretaker in the branch church Burghausen - his bass voice can still be heard in the church choir in Wippenhausen.

Ludwig Rattenstetter held many offices at the shooting club

Ludwig Rattenstetter's heart and soul has been with the Edelweiß Gremertshausen shooting club for many decades.

Secretary, youth leader and shooting master for 18 years: In many offices he “did all tasks properly, accurately and diligently”, the manager praised.

As a co-author of the local chronicle for Gremertshausen, which was published for the 1200th anniversary celebration in 1993, he worked and always made sure that the Sickenhauser Grotto was cared for.

Instead of birthday presents, he asked for the support of the small band.

He built the Bushäusl in Sickenhausen with his son Uli.

Ferdinand Rottenfusser was involved in many clubs

Neumann wondered whether one evening would be enough to summarize what Ferdinand Rottenfusser had achieved for the Kranzberg community.

He is involved in so many clubs that you can get confused with choosing the right cap, joked the branch manager, referring to such an "oversight" in the past.

He also organized the summer biathlons in Kranzberg and was always at the forefront when setting up the maypole, to name just a few activities.

Citizens' medals are to be awarded regularly in the future

Because volunteers usually do not talk much about their commitment, suggestions have come from the circle of associations and citizens, said Hammerl.

Those to be honored were selected by the local council.

"Even if your proposal was not taken into account this time, it will be the next time," promised the mayor.

Because the citizen's medal is to be awarded on a regular basis in the future.

“Wear the pin with pride,” advised the community chief.

"It's an honor to have them."

Five citizens have been waiting for 18 years to be active in the local council

Andreas Adldinger, Franz Braun, Sonja Kieslinger, Monika Mühl and Silvia Tüllmann were honored by the Free State of Bavaria for 18 years of honorary office as a councilor.

The work as a local council carries a high level of responsibility and is associated with great responsibility, reminded Neumann.

As a local council, you have to be able to endure that too.

The evening of honor was musically framed by the Sinfonietta Salon Orchestra of the Ampertal Music School under the direction of Karin Schlagintweit.
