A year ago, a third to half of the infected home residents would probably have died in such a situation, said the President of the German Association for Combating Virus Diseases of the German Press Agency dpa.
Norderstedt / Kiel - The district administration had informed about the Corona outbreak in the home on Monday.
A total of 60 of the 76 residents are currently infected.
Three of them were not vaccinated, the rest of them had already received the third vaccination.
Most of them have no or only mild symptoms.
This shows how important the vaccination is, said Fickenscher.
In old age there is an additional risk, so the third vaccination is particularly important here.
