About two weeks after the first club night in a long time in the Berlin techno club Berghain, a corona outbreak became known.

According to a report by the “Berliner Morgenpost”, at least 19 people were infected at the party.

15 of them live in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, as a district spokeswoman said on Tuesday evening.

Four other victims lived in other districts of Berlin, it said.

Berlin - According to the spokeswoman, around 2500 people have been contacted so far.

This was done with the help of the attendance list that the health department requested after the first corona case became known.

The party-goers had been recommended by the district to have themselves tested and, if they had symptoms, have a PCR test done.

How the outbreak came about is still unclear, according to the authorities.

The 2G Corona rule applied to the event on the first weekend in October.

"The vaccination records were - as far as we can see - scrupulously checked by Berghain," said the spokeswoman.

There was initially no comment from Berghain.

In the run-up to the first club night after the corona lockdown, the famous techno club self-ironically drew attention to the 2G rule with a video on its website.

With the help of the travesty artist Ades Zabel alias Edith Schröder, the question of how to get into the club, which is also notorious for its strict door policy (“How to get into Berghain”) was clarified.

In addition to information about a digital vaccination pass and registration, Edith Schröder, who is dressed entirely in black, receives the tip at the end: “And next time you wear something more colorful.” A common Berghain cliché is that black clothes increase the chance of admission.
