Craftsman Mustafa Karazon excels in making various products from wood and turns it into beautiful pieces that are used to package sweets and food products, especially dairy, in addition to the old heritage sieves, sieves and wooden measures used by rural people in their agricultural production and marketing.

The craftsman, Mustafa Karazon, who is more than seventy years old in the profession, told SANA reporter, “He returned to his shop in old Aleppo, which was destroyed and damaged by terrorism, and restored, rehabilitated, and worked again.” The two hundred years by which he controls the manufacture of old wooden molds to make boxes for sweets, jams, molasses and milk that the owners of heritage shops wish to present as gifts and souvenirs to those who wish from shoppers and tourists.

He pointed out that he continues with this profession, which he loved and hopes to teach and pass it on to those who wish to preserve it from extinction despite the difficulties he faces, including the lack of electricity to some of the old Aleppo markets so far, indicating that the production stages of any piece start with choosing the required type of wood from willow and walnut, and then using the old machine. To bend it according to the desired pattern, the stage of manual work comes by fixing the small pieces using the hammer, glue and small nails.

A few meters away from it, the craftsman Muhammad Karkar makes flowers and sieves dedicated to types of grain and olives in his shop in old Aleppo, which he also restored after being destroyed by terrorism to continue working in his profession that he inherited from his ancestors and is keen today to teach it to his children, where he cuts wood and installs it through the custom mold and adds types of The required nets and cut the leather for the olive sieves and installed on the wooden frame.

Karkar pointed out that there is a great demand for his products by rural people who go to the old markets of Aleppo to market the tools they need to use in their agricultural production.
