Czech.. Investigations into the possibility of a (crime against the republic)

The Czech police announced that they have opened an investigation with officials of the presidential administration regarding possible violations that occurred when informing the public about the state of health of the country's President Milos Zeman.

"Taking into account the new information that was announced at the press conference of the President of the Senate yesterday, the police begin an investigation into possible illegal actions by the presidential administration that can be considered criminal offenses against the republic," the police said in a statement posted on its website.

The President of the Czech Senate, Milos Vestrichel, announced yesterday that the country's President Milos Zeman "is unable to perform his presidential duties for health reasons", pointing to the possibility of activating an article in the constitution regarding the transfer of the president's powers during his illness.

"The answer he received from the military hospital in Prague about the existing expectations regarding the health of President Zeman confirms that he is unable, in the current situation, to perform any of his work duties, ie, presidential duties," Westerchel said during a press conference today.
