Frey received his first insight into the structural development of the Penzberg Clinic from various pictures on the wall of the event room. In the course of time, a new building was added, through which the operating theater could be enlarged, a gynecological practice found its home and a urological practice was connected. The interdisciplinary pelvic floor center Starnberg-Penzberg was created as a synergy effect.
The MVZ was last installed at the clinic last year. "We were allowed to develop further and Starnberg invested a lot of money," said Medical Director Dr. Florian Brändle and recalled the time around ten years ago, “when the future of the hospital was unclear”. As is well known, the Weilheim-Schongau district wanted to sell the Penzberg Clinic and ultimately spoke out in favor of handing it over to the Starnberg Clinic. "We doctors and the staff were all pro Starnberg at the time," said Brändle. “And we are very happy that the commitment to independence was kept. At no time did we have the feeling that we should become a portal clinic. ”Instead, the exchange between the clinics has grown steadily and is very good."For example, gastroenterology patients come to us in Penzberg and we send cardiological cases to Starnberg," explained Brändle.
Frey also emphasized the importance of this form of cooperation, because one can only survive if there are different locations with different focuses.
